So on May 31, Memorial Day, Becky started the day by doing laundry, like a typical Monday morning. Fortunately for me, she was kind enough to let me sleep in since I didn’t have to work that day. We went about like a typical day where we both don’t have to work, which mean Becky organized things and I sat at my computer, doing the few things she asks of me (or at least saying I would do them.) We got ready for the day and started to do some errands, like return a dead fish, go to Walmart, find four geocaches, you know, the usual. Then when we got home, we just had to have people over so we had Andrew, Starrie and Joceyface over to play games and eat french fries. Becky was silently monitoring small contractions using an app on her iPhone throughout the latter part of the day. Then around 9:00 PM Becky decided it was time to go to the hospital. But she wanted to go to Babies R Us first to get a cute handprint and footprint frame. Once we got to the hospital they got Becky on some monitors and just let us chill while they took some measurements. We ended up playing Battleship on our phones until the hour was up. When the nurse came back in, she told us the doctor decided it was better that we take our early labor back home. On our way home, Becky made a total 360 on how she was feeling. The contractions were starting to get more intense. We got home and started getting ready for bed. Right as we were about to retire, Becky says she thinks we should go back. So we repack our things and go back to the hospital. When we get there they check her again and she had gained a centimeter. They decided to break her water and let the magic happen. After they broke her water she got her epidural and everything was much better right after the epidural. After a few contractions, they decided to start to have Becky push at around 2:15 AM. The doctor took over around 3:30 and Sarah was born at 3:41 AM (June 1). They took her over to the cleaning station and found that she was having some difficulty breathing (she had some respiratory stress). So they took her to the regular nursery to do some more cleaning and after a little bit, all the issues were resolved. After all her tests and shots and bath and temperature regulation, we got to hold her 2 hours later. Before we got to hold her, we left the delivery room and went to a recovery room. When we got there, we noticed that there was daylight starting to come through. But once we saw our Sarah it was all worth it.

And now, the moment you’ve all been waiting for!! PICTURES!!
