How did it all start? A blind date works miracles, sometimes, but it did for us. Scott Wiest and Emily Peterson were the culprits that set up this dangerous duo. After the first date, hiking the Y, it was all downhill. Jared couldn’t stay away.

Our First Date

October 11, 2005

That week, after cunningly procuring her phone number from her roommates, he asked her on two more dates. A week after that Scott and Emily fancied a tour to Las Vegas. Jared would only agree to join the expedition on one condition: Becky had to be there. Unaware of the dangers, Becky agreed. It was in Las Vegas, or rather on the way, that the magic happened. They held hands and become a couple.

A fortnight later, Jared kissed Becky. With a few bumps in the road, as is becoming of any strong relationship,, they grew closer and closer. Then, a little less than a year and two months after their first date, Jared proposed to Becky. The date began with The Brick Oven. After a delicious meal, Jared took Becky to one of her favorite places, Temple Square. On December 9, 2006 the Christmas light covering the grounds illuminated the lovebirds. After walking around every inch of Temple square, the couples sat down and just took in the beauty. Finally, when they were almost ready to go, Jared knelt down on one knee and asked Becky to marry him. As soon as she could catch her breath she answered,”Yes!” This “yes” was the start of an eternity of love and happiness.
